“Travelling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things – air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.”
Who Are We ?

Aanchal Karnwal an IT professional – Integration Architect, based out of London, UK. Working in the IT industry keeps me happy, but what makes me more happier is the work- personal life balance offerings and a cheque at the end of month that gives me wings to travel around and do something that makes me extremely happy and blissful.
My Story -I am a girl with a dream to travel the world, try extreme sports, try new things, meet new people and enjoy the time & life.
I lived and travelled in India for 25years, and moved to UK at 25. One fine day of year 2010, I decided to bring a change in my life. I was always fascinated with Europe so decided on London as my next home. I quit my job, with my last 5years savings I applied for visa, booked a one way ticket to London and started preparing for a new life ahead. After 2 months of rigorous job search and on a verge of my savings about to get over, I got lucky and secured myself a job in IT company.

Ashwin Shenoy-My partner in crime or you can say my ‘bitter’ half :)My strength and inspiration of travel. Like me He is also an IT professional, and he is the only one who can pull me out of bed on a Saturday morning to go and visit some place new. Oh Yes, I can be a bummer when it comes to winter mornings.
He is an excellent amateur photographer and most of the photos on this blog came out of his vision or eye for an object. Ashwin captures the beauty of the places we visit and bring those memories back.
After settling in, our love and passion for travelling really started. We started exploring local markets of London, unseen roads, pubs, walks to near by villages that gave us a high and ultimately Travelling became a syndrome for us. A type of Syndrome that we do not want to get rid of.
We have been to 9 countries and like many dream is to visit each continent. We travelled by car, bike, trains, planes and explored on foot, stayed in cottages, b&b, caravans, tents and backpacking, ate in 5 star to cook our own meal on a portable stove. We started to get a flavour of travelling and the challenges that comes along.
Believe me we discovered oursleves while travelling, did things we never knew we would love to do over and over again. We learnt to travel on limited budget. We learnt to enjoy the mystical beauty that prevails in each place on this earth.
I used to maintain a travel journal for all of our journeys, decided why not share it with people out there who loves travelling as much as we do. So here in Corners of the World you will read about our Travel Tales- Places, Fun, Pictures, Food.
If you find our blog worth a read, please leave your comments. Also please feel free to contact us in case you want to know more details on the places we have visited, We will be more than happy to help.
Happy Writing and Reading.

I am glad that you liked my blog and loved my work, because believe me travelling is stress buster for me and writing out my experiences is soothing and healing. I write from my heart , not a lot of fancy words. I imagine how was the place like when I visited and same comes out through words.
I do agree it is a win-win situation. And I hope you will keep visiting me.

Hi Aanchal, lovely to meet you via the blog world! What an interesting story – I’ll enjoy reading your posts and have signed up to read your blog too. We used to live in London and moved to Australia quite a number of years ago but we do come back to visit our extended UK family and friends as often as we can usually about once a year. Our younger daughter is now living in London and loves all the local markets, shops, cafes and the London buzz! Look forward to reading more about your travels and adventures, thanks so much for connecting with my blog, Le Chic En Rose too, best wishes Rosemary xx 🙂

Hi Aanchal! Happy to see you Blog 🙂 I actually found this link through a review you have posted for Iceland in Trip advisor. I am staying in India and have traveled 6 countries in Europe by far. And I know travel passion is an amazing feeling and mostly people do for self healing. Although I believe, the real challenge in traveling is when you do solo trips! But its really great to read your blog and finally see a fellow Indian doing wonders :)!
Btw – I can use some tips from you for the countries you have visited, so let me know if there is a way we can be in touch!
All the best! cheers and keep traveling! 🙂
